Nancy Szostak Wright

Nancy joined the WWSL in 2001 after seeing an article in the local paper recognizing the league's donation to the Recreation Department Scholarship Fund. She had lived in Westboro for seven years and was excited to learn there was a softball league.

Nancy's softball days go back to 6th grade when the coach lined everyone up for "target practice" to see who would pitch. Nancy was the lucky one. So lucky, that her pitching skills earned her a full athletic scholarship to the University of Maine in Orono. She also played varsity field hockey and intramural basketball. In high school she played field hockey, basketball and softball. Of all sports, basketball is her favorite.

Professionally, Nancy worked in an ad agency for 10 years before entering Corporate America, where she spent three years at Citizens Bank as VP, Director of HR Communications. Nancy also serves on the board of the International Association of Business Communicators, Armstrong Elementary Parent Group, Community Education Advisory Council and she chairs the Kathy Szostak Scholarship Foundation.

As busy as she is, her first priority is her family. One of her proudest moments was when her daughter (who was three at the time) picked up a bat for the first time, held it properly and promptly hit the ball that was pitched to her.
